Toddler Poop, Homeopath Todd Hoover, Sickness in June, and Pregnancy

June 8, 2008

I am happy to report that Max finally is having amazing poops. I am giving him Floradix, which is a all food iron liquid supplement, in his bottle each am. I am also giving him molasses in his bottle if I start to notice a lot of bruises on his legs. I figured that Scott was anemic as a child and I am anemic..so I figured that Max may be as well. I know that iron and poop are directly related. I also am making sure that he gets a large does of probiotic each am and each pm. All of this has seemed to do the trick and now he sometimes even goes 2 times a day. Yeah! No more rabbit poops.

We saw Todd Hoover again because Max was digging in his ear. He told me that it is an allergy, both food and environment, but that I should not worry since his ears looked great. He gave him another dose of the original remedy and hopefully, this will relieve the digging from happening at all. I think Todd Hoover is one of the best homeopaths because he is such a wonderful observer of both Max and my own thoughts on his condition. The good news is that is is not systemic and it is not yeast just allergies.

Max had green goo coming out of his nose and so we did not go and see Christy at Cakerwakers. I felt horrible but her little one had just gotten over a sickness and I just could not bring him to the party for her little one turning 2 years old. this is the second time i have tried to meet this blog friend and it did not work out. Boo Hoo! Hopefully, we will try again. Sorry but it seems everyone is sick in June. UGH!

As for the pregnancy update, the damn scale is going up and up. Maybe it was the chinese food or the popcorn at the movies. Or maybe it is just the fact that I am prego. I really wanted to gain little weight but I guess I know that I got it off before and so I can do it again. I went for the ultrasound/blood test for down syndrome and the percentage is 1/580 for my age. Well my tests came back and my percentage was 1/10,000. The nurse on the phone was amazed by my numbers. I will take that number any day. As for the baby, well the baby looked happy and bouncing around. I am so anxious to find out what we are having. I have no patience. God bless those who can wait.

Happy Mother’s Day!

May 12, 2008

I just want to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Today I was thinking about Mother’s Day last year. We went to a really nice hotel for a brunch and Max pooped through his outfit and so I ran across the street and bought him a new one. I remember thinking..

Oh my goodness.

I should have packed another outfit

I should have checked his diaper

Today I was thinking about how different is it being a mother now. First off, I usually do not have to worry about those yellow liquid poops anymore…oh now they are big and smelly. But I also thought about how much I have changed as a mother. I can usually pack exactly what I need for him for the day. I guess I just know my kid. Now I am sure as he gets older I will have to adjust to new things that he needs but for now they are pretty simple: Diapers, a Sippee Cup, Snacks, Wipes, A back up bottle with formula (plus I keep an extra one in the car), anti bacterial wipes and well that is about it. I always have a sweat shirt in the car for him and a hat. So I guess in conclusion, it is to say that I have learned a lot in the past year since the last Mother’s Day and it is nice to be a Mom. Plus the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world..or at least Max’s world.

Happy Mother’s Day!

HELP! My son is pooping in the bathtub

February 16, 2008

Yes you read this title correctly..Max is pooping in the bathtub. What should I do? It started out like this.. Last night Max farted in the bathtub and he laughed and then I laughed and then he tried to make a few more farts but ended up pooping. So I bleached the tub and then washed it down and then it was OK. Well tonight Max was playing and getting washed and then he was playing some more..very typical routine for him in the tub. He loves the water. Then he was on his knees and bent over and started to push out a poop and it was a nice size poop. So I screamed for SCOTT and he came running and picked Max up and poop was falling to the floor. UGH and YUK! But there is something to say about it being my son because I was fine picking it up and throwing it out. But if it were an adult-well that is another story. So anyway, what do I do? I don’t want to deny him a fun bath time but I also don’t want to encourage the pooping in the tub again.Any and all comments appreciated for this poop mom.

Poop

February 3, 2008

It has been a while since I wrote about POOP! Max has been having great poops. He has been having little to no problems getting them out. I know you all kn ow the look on your childs face when they turn beet red and they are in pain. I can only imagine what that feels like, especially when I cannot put the pain into words. So what happened??

Well I put Max on a new probiotic made by Garden of Lifehere. A probiotic helps to put good bacteria in our bodies. It can also help to build out immune systems.

Every morning Max now has a great poop and then he is happy and free the rest of the day.

How many times does oyur kid poop a day?

Max GI specialist Apt: Update on blood in the stool

July 11, 2007

Max and I went to CHOP yesterday which is the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He saw a specialist for his stomach. Good news! The doctors were not worried especially because he is so chunky and healthy. They checked his stomach and put a finger up his butt, which Max was not too happy about. I found out that breastfed babies can either poop once a week to every time they feed an d that is normal. I also talked a lot about his allergies to food and the doctor said he may or may not grow out of them, which I figured as well. So for now, we are staying away from the foods that cause problems and that is fine with me. It was good just to get him checked out. The dloctor thinks he had an anal fissure, which is this . He said it is like having chapped lip but in your butt. OUCH!!

So on another note, Max pulled himself up. Try and picture this..I am cooking..I see him out of the corner of my eye in a sqaut position with his arms holding on to the step stool and then he pulls himself up! Oh BOY! I was screaming with laugfter. I cannot believe that this kid came out of me not even 7 months ago and now he is doing all of these things-meaning that he is learnin g how to explore the world on his own. It is amazing.

Yesterday, when we were leaving CHOP, I realized how lucky I am. I have a boy that is healthy and a family that is healthy. Max and I were in the elevator and I said to him, “Max this is a place where children come when they are sick. This is place that you had to come to see a doctor for your tummy but he told us that you were not sick. We are very lucky. N ow let’s send a blessing to all the children who do not feel so good here.” Then I kissed him and said thank you.
