Here is a picture last week from our trip to Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. Max was sharing a snack with his buddy Max at the local coffee shop. I just love this picture because it just shows how simple it is when you are young. They are just sitting there quietly sharing some yummy snacks and enjoying life. I just love that my little guy teaching me so many little things in life that I have forgotten.
Lately I have been cherishing the moments we have together. I think I have always cherished them but now the thought of another baby is near and so I am treasuring each moment with my little guy.
I am watching him grow into such a sweet and tender boy except for the times when he does not want to share and then the “monkey shake’ comes and the money shake is what he does to say..hey get away!! I am trying to teach him that he cannot do the monkey shake and yes, he makes monkey noises. I think he is watching too much curious george. Regardless discipline and boundaries need to start somewhere and at sometime and now is the time. He did the monkey shake with this little boy and his mom said don’t worry..but I said to her that it was ok..that Max needs to learn now that he must share and sometimes it is frustrating etc. I think we have little rules but treating people and animals the right way is very important to us. I also feel that Max needs to sometimes hear no even though it breaks my heart to say no and see some tears but it needs to happen. I feel like I do it with love and I think that is the best way.
