I talked the other day about Max nursing less and what happened-the curse-a blocked duct. So at 3 am I was pumping in the kitchen and massaging my right boob-ouch. I think it is a combination of a new “old bra” (the one that sits in the drawer never worn but bought a while back) that I think cuts off some circulation in my boob and Max nuring less. I nurse him in the am for a long feeding and then one mid day snack and then one snack like pm feeding. He may have a snack or two extra, which means that he nurses for about a minute or two.
Yesterday was the first time I actually used a bottle during the day. He gets bottles from my hubby and Shannon, the amazing babysitter, and he does get a bottle from me at night but not during the day. I think he enjoys the freedom. He has started to actually hold the bottle on his own-well not the 8 ounce ones but the 4 ounce ones. I know he likes to nurse for comfort and I am not sure when I want to give that up or when he decides that he is done. Who knows??
So I took Lecithin, lots of Vitamin C, drinking Echinacea tea and forcing Max on the boob. I also added some extra probiotics into my own diet as well. I think my homrones are changing and so I have beena little off balance, which I am sure also was a factor in the blocked duct issue. I always know I am off balance when I am not digesting well or sneezing a lot or just feeling plain blah.
Well I am hoping that it will clear by tomorrow.
Also, Max and I had our first ever swim class. I will post later abot how wonderful it was.
