The dog and other stuff..

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

I think we found Stan a new home with this really wonderful couple who lives in town but it probably moving to a farm in the Midwest. The husband is working for a hospital in town, they are originally from Texas but moved here for his work. So anyway, they seem lovely and the husband grew up with a PUG. Yeah. We will be meeting them in 3 weeks.

I really feel like this is the best place for Stan. When we spoke to the animal communicator-she said that Stan wanted to be an only dog and snuggled and loved. I think this couple is the perfect match.

I will keeo you guys posted.

As for work, I had to take the baby with me-My babysitter bailed today. It is so tough with this babysitter..every other day I feel like we need to find a new one but I keep with this one for comfort reasons. I guess just like Stan-I have to think that there is a wonderful babysitter out there as well. One of my neighbors came by the other day with a welcome gift and so I think I will ask her about babysitter since she has 3 kids.

Okay enough for the boring post.

Nobody to the Rescue..

Yes, we are still looking for a home for Stan.

Feel free to email me if you want to get the whole story but bottom line: yada, yada. But hey..this is life..one day yes and then one day well maybe.

I am a very bottom line kind of girl and maybes do not work for me..black and white..not gray. Yeah I have been trying my whole life to find gray but no luck.

I am trying not to sound like a complete bitch but this is Stan and this is not a maybe situation.

On a positive note, I have come to believe that everything in the world happens for a reason and so I know the perfect home is out there and it is just going to take some more looking.

I really appreciate all of your support in the last few days and your own personal stories.

Breastfeeding

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

First off Max knows this word. B ut here are some funny things he does.

1. When he is nursing he does this thing with his hand almost like he is getting milk out of a goat. :)
2. He puts his head down the top of my shirt when he wants to nurse. (I don’t think people notice but I know what he wants).
3. He pats my chest with his hand when he wants to nurse.
4. When he sees me getting dressed and he sees the boob, he wants to nurse.
5. He can nurse while kneeling and sittung up.

Grandma to the Rescue..

Scotts mom said she would take Stan. Wow. Amazing. Yipee! Stan will still be able to be in our life and mor eimportantly, Esthers life.

After a night of emailing people back and foth on Craigslist, I felt hopeless but Scott and I asked his mom and she said YES. It has been so hard for me. I was driving and crying and just feeling so sad because I know that Stan did not mean to hurt anybody-he is just this way. He is trying to be a good boy but when it comes to food-well that is another story.

So I feel so happy. I was at Music class today and everybody asked what happened to Max’s face and then I told the story and found out I am not so alone because two other moms had to do the same thing.

We also went to a Whole Foods, herewhich is right around the corner from Music Class so I think we will make that our Friday ritual. It was cool to be back at Whole foods because I lived 10 blocks away from two different stores. It was nice to see all the hapy organic and friendly people working at the market. Everything in that market is so full of clor and love. Ah, the good old days. I even struck up a conversation with the check out ladies and it was cool just to talk to some really happy Whole Foods people.

On the way home we went to the Conshohocken Farmers Market open Fridays from 11 am to 4 pm. This is a great open market even with live music. I bought flowers, raw honey, plums, apples, swiss chard, squash-butternut and spaghetti and a few other yummies.

There is another farmers market that I go to at the bottom of Chestnut Hill on Saturday from 9 30 am to 1 30 pm but i wanted to be able to take a long walk in the park so I figured I would buy lots today. And actually the one I went to today has a lot more stuff and there is a sweet little Amish boy who I give a dollar to each week so he can buy sweets for himself.

So tonight I can reat easy knowing that Stan, my first born animal, will be taken care oof by somebody who will love him beyond his wildest dreams.

Baby Update, Dog Update, Food Update & and Thanks to My Blogger Sisters

Thank you so much for all of your words of widom and your comments today. It made me feel good. It was very stressful today. First off, it was not a bite but instead 4 paw gashes. Thank goodness. Also lukcily Max was getting his 2nd DtaP as well so at least we are being cautious to not get a bad bacteria infection.

Max has been fussy all day and had trouble sleeping between teething, gashes to his face and a shot in his left thigh. It was a long day for all of us. Max weighs 20 pounds, 6 ounces and he is 27 1/2 inches long. 75% across the board. Dr. Daphne Goldberg is wonderful and I am so lucky to have her as Max’s doctor. It almost makes me jealous of him. LOL.

So we have decided that we cannot take a chance with the dog. Stan was my first dog and I only got him one month before I mert Scott so it has been his dog as well. But we cannot take a chance. Stan has always been fiesty when it comes to food and bones but to think that we will always ba ble to catrch this is silly. There will be one time when we don’t and who knows. My sister got bit by a dog and she was 5 and had 69 stiches. She was lucky. So we will need to find Stan a home with a nice family that does not have kids. I am sure we will find one but it stinks and i am sad and angry and sad and angry.

As for foods, Max loves green beans and hates peas. Loves bannanas and pears and avcocado and kind of likes carrots..loves winter squash and loves prunes like his momma.

And a big thanks again to all of my blogger buddies who made the day feel ok.
