Breast-feeding in Public

I found this article. I am so happy that we are finally at this point. I think it is wrong not to let women breast feed in public. I have always been fortunate that nobody has made any comments to me about feeding Max.

Check this out:

Pa. Senate approves breast-feeding rights bill

The Associated Press
HARRISBURG, Pa. - The state Senate on Tuesday approved a bill intended to ensure a woman’s right to breast-feed her child in any location.
The bill, which passed 48-1, attracted interest following an incident earlier this year at a Reading mall in which a woman was asked not to breast-feed her infant in public.
The issue even brought nearly 100 women and children to a rally in the Capitol earlier this month in support of the bill. Some held signs with messages such as “I won’t eat in the restroom,” and “Bathrooms are for diapers , not dinner.”
“It represents a historic first step that Pennsylvania is taking to support mothers and babies,” Sen. Connie Williams, D-Montgomery, who sponsored the bill, said on the Senate floor just before the vote.
The bill goes to the full House.
Under the bill, a mother would be permitted to breast-feed her child in any location, public or private, whether or not her breast is concealed. Local governments would be unable to prohibit breast-feeding in public, and the act of breast-feeding could not be considered indecent exposure.
Fourteen states, including Pennsylvania, do not specifically allow women to breast-feed in public or private places, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Postpartum Update

Lots of laughs

It is officially 5 months after the birth of Max. I have just started to feel my hormones come back. I have felt them come back a little at 2 months but then all of the sudden, I just started feeling more balanced. I have lost another pound, making this now 112. I go up and down about a pound depending on what I eat. I was told by my midwife, Ronni Rothman, that I would hold onto 5 pounds just becuase I am breastfeeding.

I am starting to feel my hips go back in place as well as my ribs. My chest is still a DD but I guess that will stay that way until max starts to nurse less.

I have noticed my nails have been cracking a lot and breaking and so I have increased my natural pre natal pill by one. I do not eat and dairy so I am always concerned about calcium but I eat tons of leafy green veggies.

Now here is the good stuff..this was my weekend! Just the two of us laughing and smiling for Daddy.
